Rollin sometimes receives calls late at night.
The messages usually say they want something from Walmart or Waffle House.
Often they've ran out of cigarettes'.
They call from home and sometimes they are 3rd shifters who don't want
to or can't go out.
I hate to miss the calls But, we close at 7pm.
At least for right now we do.
Do you have any guesses why we close at 7pm?
Not to long ago Rollin stayed open to 11pm.
Next we started closing at 7pm in the Winter and 8pm in the Summer.
Then I just stopped all of that confusion and started closing at 7pm all the time.
The first reason is safety.
Usually it is me delivering and to be honest it is hard to see house numbers when the sun goes down.
It is fine for repeat clients but it seems new clients love to call at night.
As more people join the company, I will offer for them to work longer hours if they would like to.
The 2nd reason is slow calls.
When I was staying open to 9pm I had at least a 75% drop in orders after 7pm.
Of course as soon as I started closing it picked up a bit but not significantly.
The third and biggest reason.
As all solopreneurs know, there is a ton of work that comes along with being a small business owner.
After doing deliveries I also have to invoice, make the schedule for the next day, plan marketing and so much more.
Honestly, I love it but, I am human so I have to rest sometimes.
Hopefully soon, I will be able to hire an assistant and a couple more associates to perform errands.
Are there any errands you would request after 7pm?
I would love to hear from you about it?
