Have you ever watched the show "The Mask Singer"? It is a singing competition where all the contestants are well know people in mask. They are not all singers. Some of them are athletes, social influencers and a variety of other famous people. It is such a great show because sometimes you have no idea who is behind the mask. Some of them are great singers that you had no idea could sing. Some of them can not sing but you know they will not be on the show long before getting voted off. As I watched the last 2 seasons, I have thought about how my business can take some cues from this show. You May also enjoy reading.... The Masked singer is full of surprises and funny moments from the host "Nick Cannon" and the judges. On occasion they have a surprise guest judge. *The first thing I can take away from the show is that people like predictable surprises. They like new things that do not completely change the scope of a product. When things are surprising and kind of new, it makes people look forward to what will happen next. This can be worked into business with new but similar products. It can also be a way to introduce contest and games. *Another awesome point the show makes is about timing. The show came on this season right around Halloween. The time when people are getting ready to buy their own costumes and mask. This year may be a little different, with more virtual costume parties but the theme will remain. One thing I really need to work on in my business is the timing of my marketing. I am sure my clients would appreciate marketing that better fits the things they are experiencing at certain times of year. Don't worry guys. I am learning and adapting. *On the "Masked Singer" the judges make guesses about who is in the mask but the audience decides who is going home that week by voting. The singer with the least votes leaves the show. What better way to give your clients what they want than to ask them what they like best. Not only to ask them what they like, but to offer the products or services your business can offer with quality. You can tuck a survey into a email or give an opinion card with a discount for completing it with each product or service. I am going to make it into a game where everyone wins. Thanks for the great business advise "Mask Singer"! Even if you didn't know you were giving it. Comments are closed.
