Rollin Delivery & Errands

When big business comes a calling.

2/17/2019

Boys in a RaceCompetition is Good
Recently the larger food and grocery delivery companies have set up shop in the areas I serve.
When someone asked me how I felt about that my answer shocked them.
I told the young lady that I was glad they had finally made it here and named all the companies that were here now.

They include Grubhub, Postmates, maybe Ubereats and Instacart. There are others like Shipt but I am not sure of the areas they serve.
These are big companies. They have tons of money to throw at advertising and marketing. I am sure you have received a postcard from at least one of them.
I bet you wonder how that is good for my business?
When I started my company the biggest hurdle for me was explaining to people what I did.  Now with the big companies coming into town people are more aware of the types of things my company does too but on a more personal scale.
The larger companies can afford to spend big money on goggle ads, facebook ads, instagram ads and more, but even that points people to companies that do the same thing in their area. I may not come up at the top of the search page but I still come up.

The biggest difference with my company and the big ones moving into the area is I am a errand and delivery company and they are software companies that have built delivery/logistics software.  I use software built by other companies to track my bookings and logistics. This allows me to still work with restaurants and establishments that want to utilize the large companies online presence and still have my company do their deliveries.
The people who use my service instead of the big ones want to know who is performing their errand and they may need more than one errand done at a time. They want products delivered from a locally owned non-franchise establishment. Often they just want to call or text what they need from a couple of different places and they need to know all of the possible options in real time.  Even as I grow these principles will remain the same.
I think it is wonderful that people have options.  I think it's wonderful that these options are creating ways for people toearn more money and be independent.

Win, win!
How did I come to all this wonderful enlightened knowledge.
Trial and error plus listening to the needs of my clients.
I can't say that when they first opened shop I was not a little nervous. Then I noticed how the numbers went up on my website views and how many more new clients I was signing up each week.
Now it is time to grow!
